Screen Printed Lanyards

Logos and text can be either screen printed (‘standard’ print) or silk screen printed (particularly suitable for metallic colours)

Screen printing is the most commonly used and cost-effective method for printing onto lanyards. It is possible to print one or more colours but only spot colours are used. The design is placed on the gauze in the screen print frame. The gauze has a light sensitive layer. A film of the design is placed on the gauze and the entire surface is exposed to UV light. The printing ink is pressed through the gauze to the lanyard material, enabling the image to be printed onto it.

Dye Sublimation Lanyards

Dye sublimation is perfect for complex tonal logos and first-class representation of images

Dye Sublimation can only be used with polyester material. It is similar to the heat transfer process as it uses special heat-sensitive dyes to print graphics, text or any detailed image onto special transfer paper. The paper is then placed on the lanyards and both are placed into a heat press. The heat cycle transfers the design into or underneath the surface. The high temperature opens the pores of the polyester fabric and allows the dye vapour to enter the lanyard fabric. When the temperature cools, the pores close and the dye is trapped in the fibre of the fabric and becomes a permanent part of the lanyard.

Heat Transfer Lanyards

Through the use of screen printing, the design is printed on a paper image carrier. A heat transfer press is then used to print the image on the lanyard.

This technique is particularly suitable if multiple colours are being used or detailed logos or images are required.

Iron Transfer Lanyards

Iron Transfer: With the use of a plotter, the logo is digitally printed onto an adhesive plastic which at the same time is cut by digital control. Once the transfer is cut according to the desired shape, it is transferred with an iron. Not all logos and shapes can suit this process as non-basic shapes add too much complexity to an industrial-oriented process. Iron transfers are made in a high resolution full colour imprint. This is a cost effective system to print full colour images on short run orders.

Embroidered Lanyards

The price for embroidery depends on the number of stitches and the size of the text / logo. An embroidery card/disc is needed to reproduce the image on the article. Fully covered areas or the used of gold or silver thread is more expensive.
